4 Hour Ear Piercing

If ever there was a reason to blog, this is it. On Monday Mark, the kids and I went to SouthTowne mall and spent four long hours getting Andree’s ears pierced. Was it an event! First we went to Claire’s and watched another little girl get her ears pierced and that went well, but Andree needed some time to think. So after an hour at the dino play area and a pretzel as a snack, we went back to Claire’s, filled out the papers, and walked to the big black chair and chickened out. We left again and went cell phone shopping, and Hannah Montana look alike belt shopping (for Andree not me).

Ok we’ve got our courage back and are ready to try again, but now we’ve decided Claire’s is not a healthy ear piercing environment or had bad fung shui or something, so Piercing Pagoda here we come. “Are you kidding me, the prices are almost $15 more, for this price you’d better anesthetize the ears first” I said in utter shock after looking at their prices. I almost walked away, but then the cute little girl earning a commission came back with the ultimate sales tactic “Oh and by the way mam, we can pierce both her ears at once.” Where do I sign? Andree talked to the two nice girls and decided yes, she was actually ready. We paid almost $40, signed all the papers and went into their booth and sat down in the ominous black chair and then had a 6 year old anxiety attack. Back out of the big black...
